Complete Seawater Treatment System
The CWP SW-100 is a patented two-stage nanofiltration and reverse osmosis
unit that takes water directly from the ocean and transforms it into drinking
water..
Developed by hydrologist C. Brent Cluff, PhD, the CWP SW-100 produces
water at the rate of 1,500 gallons per day. The water may be sucked
from the sea via an ordinary garden hose, and a small pump for that purpose
is included. The water goes into the large green 550 gallon slowsand
filter tank. This slowand filter kit must be completed onsite with half
of a yard of ordinary washed gravel of 1 inch or smaller, along with ordinary
beach sand, about 2 yards. The slowsand may be constructed in a few hours
according to our instructions by dumping the gravel and the sand into
the tank. This slowsand pre-treatment of seawater is absolutely essential
and provides an entrapment of the suspended solids present in seawater,
constituting an ideal pre-treatment before the nanofiltration and RO stages.
Following the slowsand pre-treatment, the water is drawn into the nano
stage of the CWP SW-100. The 3/4 horsepower motor pushes the slowsand-treated
seawater through a nano filter. That stage produces both product and reject.
The reject goes back into the sea via a hose (or can be dried in a pond
and fortified sea salt recovered and sold). The product from the nano
stage is then super-pressurized to 800 psi by the special 2 hp high pressure
motor. The 800 psi water is then pushed through 2 (ea) 2.5 inch by 40
inch RO membranes and the resulting product is ready to drink and use
in the home. It will be about 200 parts per million total dissolved solids,
better than most city waters, absolutely chlorine and chemical free. Both
of these electric motors can run on single phase 110 or 220 volt; just
tell us which you prefer and we will configure it for you.
- The CWP SW-100 runs until the 330 gallon high density polyethylene
storage tank is full and then it switches off via a float switch hanging
in the tank. In the home, when valves are opened for drinking water,
shower, dishwasher, toilet flushing, laundry or car washing, the Grundfos
Smart Pump kicks on and provides 51 PSI to the entire plumbing system.
It automatically shuts off when water is not being used, and thus may
be seen as an on-demand pump.
- The entire system will run on a 30 amp electrical circuit.
- The only maintenence is the replacement of a standard 20" slim
5-micron sediment filter ($8), once every 6 months or so, depending
on how dirty it looks. These are standard items and available nationwide
from any major vendor of water purification supplies. We also carry
them at Clean Water ProductsWe have had one of these machines operating
for more than a year in Puerto Penasco, Mexico and have not needed to
either change the pre-filter OR clean the machine.
- Finally, after long use, perhaps more than a year, the system may
be cleaned using a 5-gallon bucket and a combination of versene and
trisodium phosphate for a 15-minute "bio-wash" that cleanses
the nano and RO membranes of biological fouling. This activity may be
performed once a year or when necessary. Very simple to do and we provide
detailed instructions.
- Unit includes a 1-year warranty on all parts, plus a 2-year replacement
guarantee on the Grundfos Smart Pump.
- We are happy to provide testimonials from people who love our reverse
osmosis systems that operate chemical free, with no salt added, purifying
and softening water for the whole home or business, making the best,
cleanest, safest water for yours and your family's drinking, cooking,
washing and bathing.
- Nobody can beat us on price and quality. Our customers love us.
- Nobody else has a seawater system like this on the market. We offer
free telephone setup assitance and questions answered. This will work
anywhere in the world, whether the water is right out of the sea, or
from a beach well, or even from brackish water some distance inland
from the sea. We think it would be ideal for people living on islands
or along remote coastal areas. Call us if you have any questions on
